CROCODILE TIRES
• INCREASES SAFETY
• NO BLOWOUTS
• ELIMINATES DOWNTIME
• INCREASES PRODUCTIVITY
• SUPERIOR RIDE COMFORT Airless Tires for industrial and mining applications. The Crocodile Tire is a Puncture-Free Airless (semi-solid) Tire with some unique characteristics.
• Lasting 3 to 4 times longer than conventional pneumatic tires
• Rim and tire combination -bolt-on, bolt off proposition
• The Rim is chemically bonded to the cushioned rubber during vulcanisation
• Natural rubber tread based compound with excellent cut resistance
One of the major differences between the Crocodile Tire and the Airboss Tire is that there are 2 forms of cushioning in the Crocodile Tire. They are the size of the voids and the rubber formula around the voids. This process allows us to make the tires as cushioned or as Ridgid as you would like the tire to be. Softer for a Telehandler and Personnel Carriers and Skid Steer Loaders, harder for larger equipment such as a Shotcrete Machines and Underground Drill rigs. The Airboss tire technology is a very successful early version of a semi-solid puncture proof tire and has uniquely designed segments bolted to the rim.
The technology was sold developed via Airboss America, a company co-founded by Alan Burns, which now generates revenues in excess of $250 million annually.
Mr Burn had dedicated considerable time to a variety of inventions which have won a number of international awards. Along with the AirBoss Tire, he has been directly responsible for pursuit Dynamics technology, the CETO wave Energy Converter and the Cleaner Coal power technology, all of which have either been or are being commercialised. He has personally invested heavily in industrial research and development of these inventions and in the manufacturing facilities to bring them to market.
Fast Forward
Mr Burns most recent invention, the Crocodile Tire, is a more sophisticated airless tire design.
The Crocodile Tire is an airless (semi-solid) tire with some unique characteristics, and far superior to any previous concept. It provides a comfortable ride with the use of standard pneumatic rims, which are relatively inexpensive, light in weight and freely available. The result is a maintenance-free OTR tire, which provides exceptional tread life and durability, while at the same time providing a soft cushioned ride, to the benefit of the operator comfort and machine transmission life.
Croc Tyres Pty Ltd was registered on the 06.07.2010 and purchased Crocodile Corporation.
It now owns the patented Crocodile Tire technology and Crocodile Trademark and retains the exclusive right to manufacture and distribute Crocodile Tires worldwide.
Croc tyres Pty Ltd has been actively developing Crocodile tire technology with the view of becoming a global supplier of airless Industrial and Mining Tires through approved dealer networks.
Manufacturing is outsourced to China, and agreements with two tire manufacturers since 2010 and another 2 Airless tire manufactures and 2 mould manufacturing companies since July this year.
